It’s been a few weeks of heavy lifting, exorcist-like energetic extractions, and many tender but welcome aha’s. Hello, Mars Uranus conjunction/being between two potent Capricorn moons/all. the. things. The saying “be careful what you ask for” sounds so ominous. It should be more like “pay attention to how you respond when you do or don’t get what you asked for” or simply “pay attention.”
We aren’t born with innate self-awareness—not most of us, anyway, and not usually in the ways we need. It’s something that develops over time, much like learning to observe and direct our attention. It’s a recurring practice for me, paying attention to where my focus is (often unconsciously) drawn to and absorbed within. First, without that awareness, how can we understand how we spend our energy and time? Second, there’s the question of quality. And then there's the balancing act between consumption and output. I’m a manifesting generator y’all! I want to sample the bento box of life. I’ve lost count of how many partially read books I have at any given time, and I feel energized when I can pour into several creative and professional outlets.
The path of having one full-time job drains me on every level, yet it’s often seen as the easier route to material ‘success’. That is, of course, a story—not the only one, and not even a final deciding factor. But it is one narrative that’s received a lot of my attention over the years.
So we observe: the thoughts and stories, the emotions driving and validating them, and the actions or inaction we take as a result—and the loop that forms the reality we so often find ourselves living within.
Observing and then Questioning. When does my multi-passionate nature shift from being a source of inspiration to an excessive distraction, causing me to neglect the very self-expression and sharing I crave? When does my earlier “story” stop being a distant voice and start discouraging me from even trying to prove it wrong?"
Breathe. Find your balance. This balance involves not only managing intake and output but also navigating how much I keep between myself and my journal versus sharing my reflections with others. Even our gifts can be overused to a fault sometimes. When my “multi-ness” tendencies become overwhelming, and every fiber of my being works to distract me from sharing my ideas and offerings, it’s usually a sign that I’ve been in hermit mode for too long. My mind becomes overloaded with everything I've kept to myself, leaving me unsure of where to begin.
Life is short, but it’s also long. Unless you’ve experienced past life regression, what do we have to compare it to? Every year, as we approach our next turn around the sun, it feels like all the shortcomings of the past 12 months come barreling towards us. Without honing our attention and ability to observe, we risk getting stuck in these stories, overlooking the positive changes, the growth, and the “good,” as well as the ever-changing pace of life.
I’m letting the story of the tortoise and the hare be an analogy for going at your own pace, regardless of how quickly you reach a destination. Just as the tortoise teaches us that steady effort wins the race, and the hare warns against overconfidence, we can learn to value both our fast and slow periods. Some years, you’re the speedy rabbit; other years, you’re the tortoise, in no rush to be anywhere, simply taking it all in. Both are completely valid and necessary.
In the spirit of reflecting on annual turns around the sun (and with my 38th fast approaching), I’ve been keenly focused on clearing space, moving stagnant energy, and sweeping away the residue of past wounding. While my exorcism comparison may be hyperbolic, I fully embrace my Leo dramatic flair.
As part of this journey, I’ve been working with some powerful tools and resources that have been illuminating and instrumental in my process.
Here’s a look at what’s been helping me along the way:
Chris Corsini's Cord Cutting Workshop was an incredibly cathartic experience that reminded me that healing comes in waves. While we can’t remain in a perpetual state of healing, sometimes the claws of painful attachments, though no longer actively present, might leave pieces still embedded. When you’re ready, you can return to retrieve them. For me, it wasn’t so much the relationship I needed to cut, but the guilt of severing it.
I just recently began these somatic movements with The Workout Witch in her 30-day Trauma Release Course and when someone tells me to ‘workout’ in the most lazy, unambitious way, I’m in. Leo remember?
Fists of Anger is a Kundalini Meditation for Releasing Anger and has for the last several years been perhaps my most shared resource to friends who need to move some energy! It combines powerful breath with movement and intention to channel “uncontrollable and disturbing” energy and release it.
For the month of July, I’ve been practicing this Meditation for the Arcline: Realize Your Power. In Kundalini teachings of the Ten Bodies, the Arcline is described as an energetic line or "halo" extending from ear to ear, projecting your essence and protecting you from negative energy. Women also have a second Arcline at our heart center, from nipple to nipple, which carries the imprint of our life experiences. Each month, I choose practices that align with my goals and vision. The shifts I’ve experienced in the past few weeks have supported me as I delve deeper into my voice and become a stronger advocate for my needs and desires. If you feel called to practice, here’s the suggested track to help you keep rhythm as you chant and get into a meditative flow: Enter the Lion
Take Care: The most important tool of all. Just as your body needs rest and replenishment after an intense workout, it also requires care as you integrate changes. Whether you try any of the practices mentioned above or not, these prompts encourage self-compassion and gentle processing after working with energetic release tools:
What are some specific ways I can offer myself comfort and kindness as I navigate the tender emotions that arise from releasing stored energy or trauma?
How can I create a safe space within myself to honor and acknowledge the shifts happening in my body and energy field?
In what ways can I practice patience and self-compassion as I integrate the changes and healing from energetic work into my daily life?

When we are disconnected from source, we must seek another source.
“The first thing you look upon when you open your eyes is your god.” I read that in a lecture, and while the rest of it didn’t resonate deeply, that idea alone shook me out of complacency.
In our pursuit of self-awareness and in intentionally directing our attention back to our own center and source of power, we uncover new paths for clearing and reclamation.
Thank you for being here with me. If any of this resonates, I’d love to hear from you in the comments, by email, or even through sharing my newsletter, so I might continue growing into this voice of mine, month by month-ish.
With Love and Fiery Leo Season Vibes,
Michelle
